MELAMINE
Chemical substance (2,4,6,-triamino-1,3,5,-triazine), amine derivative of symmetrical triazine, cyanamide trimer or tricyanic acid triamide, an organic substrate, a halogen-free flame retardant. Chemically clean melamine has colorless crystals without any odour, almost insoluble in water and most organic solvents. Melamine belongs to cyanamides and has a number of properties due to energetic stability of triazine rings. These properties include light-, heat- and chemical resistance as well as the ability to form polyfunctional reactive chemical combinations. That’s why melamine is a valuable chemical raw material for many polymeric combinations. Synonyms and international name: (2,4,6,-triamino-1,3,5,-tryazin), amine derivative of symmetrical triazine, cyanamide trimer or tricyanic acid triamide, melamine.
